i do apologize for not getting back to you in time, works has been crazy and the work load has picked up, i have an update and a request from the marines... they are requesting for energy drink such as monster any flavor rockstars any flavor and red bulls as well as protein bars energy bars phone cards coffee grinds and snack such as bags of peanut M&M's chex mix dorito's pringles beef jerky and powder drink mixes i have even been asked for more dip copenhagan straight and wintergreen and cigarettes newports marlboro red's and camel crushes that i have gotten from the marines, these items would be greatly appreciated. we i have even had requests for the tuna lunches as well as any kind of lunchable that doesnt require to be cooked or stored cold.

we have received a good amount of care packages and are beyond thankful for them. However my Marines have been asking me to get on and update on things we would like and need. well being that the internet in limited to use its not often i can get on. The marines have requested the following items... phone cards, cliff bars, protien bars & powder mix, energy drinks if posiable ( monster rockstar full throtles ). i will update as internet access permits. thank you

Hello, im Cpl bliese I am currently deployed in Afghanistan. Myslef and my marines work early mornings into late nights. Unfortunately the location in which we are based out of does not have access to a px. every couple months or so there is a resupply but as you can imagine those supplies do not last long. my Marines and I are in desperate need of of personal hygiene supplies and, im not going to lie, a few snacks here and there would be greatly appreciated. in all honestly the greatest need that we have is tobacco. most of us dip copenhagen straight, and on the rare occasion that we are able to get cope wintergreen, well that is a rare treat, but tobacco is a scarce commodity, worse than baby wipes and axe body spray. what we are hoping for is some support for those of us that dont have the means to provide for ourselves with the things that we need the most. Myself and my Marines would greatly appreciate any support that we can get. if anyone feel gracious enough to help, and support us please include an address so we can give out thanks in the best way possible. thank you for all of your support for me and my Marines, god knows we can use all that we can get.

You might consider picking contacts closer to your mailing area to help cut the cost of mailing. New with us (December 2005) you might notice "APO AA" and "FPO AA". This is for units in the Caribbean/South America. Normally. However, due to the nature of some units they may be in Iraq but have an address showing "FPO AA". Mail addresses to "AA" goes out of Miami, Florida.

(Note 2.): Why are military addresses weird? There isn't a street address or city. What gives? Correct, just about everything about the military is weird to civilians. Military units are very mobile, they move around a lot, often they even become part of another unit. The APO (Army Post Office) and FPO (Fleet Post Office) assign APO and FPO numbers as needed, they are NOT static. An APO/FPO number may be for a large unit, or a location. An APO/FPO number for Baghdad today may be for Frankfurt tomorrow.

(Note 3.): The "Expect to not mail past" date is only an approximate and is one of the least reliable things on this web site. It is because of this that you must check often before you send anything to this unit. There are a few reasons this date is not reliable, to include: it IS the Military, we ARE dealing with the APO/FPO/DPO. The only thing that does not change in the military is that things will change. PLEASE NOTE that a Contact is dropped off our active list 30 days PRIOR to their date leaving to help avoid mail bouncing.

(Note 5.): The lines, "Contact with approx number of Soldiers:" and "Approx how may Female Soldiers:" have NOTHING to do with unit strength. They are approximately how many other Troops the Contacts believe they can get packages to. This helps you understand that you should not send 100 packages to someone who only deals with 10 Troops.
Don't forget that if your package is for a female Soldier, be sure to change "ATTN: Any Soldier®" to "ATTN: Any Female Soldier".

( Note 6.): This is simply where the unit this contact is from. This is NOT a true picture of the folks in the unit as most all units are made up of folks from all over the United States.) A "Composite Unit" is one made up of other units and is usually temporary for a particular mission.

( Note 7.): Updated APO/FPO/DPO mailing restrictions> courtesy of Oconus.com (gone now) (Note: About Restriction "U2": "U2 - Limited to First Class Letters", Box "R" is for retired personnel that live overseas and are still authorized an APO/FPO box. Their address will be something like Box 3345R. Doubt you will see anything like that in Afghanistan or Iraq or ...)(Please Note: Sometime in August 2013, Oconus.com changed the code on their page and our form doesn't work with them anymore, so a link to their page is the best we can do, sorry.)
