11 Nov 2012:
I want to thank everyone who has shown my platoon and myself their support. We are deeply touched and completely appreciative of everything you guys have done. We have been out and about for the last couple of months and haven't been able to get mail regularly. We just got a huge shipment of mail yesterday and we were almost overwhelmed by all of the any Marine mail. Again thank you. My unit is on its way out of the door very soon. I ask that you don't send myself or platoon any more mail, but ask you to please continue to support the rest of our troops still fighting this war. Again thank you to everyone who has helped us over the last year. SSgt Timothy Jones Semper Fidelis

Hello everyone,
To everyone who has shown thier continuous support over the last few months, I just wanted to thank you. I've tried to write a thank you letter back to everyone who has sent out thier support in the form of a letter or a care package. If you haven't gotten it yet I apologize, and just know that we are all very thankful for your support. We are approaching the cold and wet months here shortly and anything to fight the two elements would be greatly appreciated. We typically operate away from the large bases and aren't exposed to all the luxouries such as electricity. I deployed here last year and the one thing that got us through the miserable cold and wet months was the ablitiy to heat up water. There are many means of doing this, Jetboils are the easiest way of doing this. There are also water heaters that you can plung in. We have outlets in our trucks that would allow us to use that means. Glove liners and sleeping bag liners are also a must to get by out here. Again, any kind of support, even a letter, helps get us through to the next day. I ask that your keep your support coming our way. From all of the men of 2nd RECON, Thank You

Just an update. I just wanted to thank everyone who has supported me and my platoon. I can't tell you how much your support, packages, and letters have helped boost our morale. We don't get many opportunities to get to a computer to give updates, so I do apologize. But I wanted to let everyone that had lent their support that we are receiving your packages. There aren't any significant updates to anything we need, other than pedialite drink mixes. It's very hot out here, and we have found that pedialite has been the best way to stay hydrated. Again from all of the men of 2nd Recon, A Co, 1st Plt, THANK YOU

28 May 2012
I am representing my platoon of Reconnaissance Marines. As you might guess, we do not have the comfort items, or in some cases necessity items. We are currently stationed out of a big base, but we spend very little time on the base due to our mission. When we are able toget to a px, the supplies are very limited to support the specific needs of my platoon. This organization was recommended to me by the platoon I replaced, and I intend on recommending it to the men who replace me. I was also recommended to purchase specific items unique to my job. Items that can not be bought here or issueed out. Some of these items include, bug nets, jet boils, garmin fore trex 401, underarmour compression shorts and light weight hiking socks, gatorade drink mixes, foot powder, electric razors, 5 hour energy drinks, muscletech protein for recovery, solar chargers for usb connection, crocs scandals to let our feet dry out, orange Oakley M frame replacement lenses for day and night time operations, Starbucks via instant coffee, tan mechanix Wear medium gloves, nalgean bottles, laundry detergent, dove body wash, tooth paste and brushes, oral b floss picks, schick hydro 5 razors, shaving cream, baby wipes, febreeze and gum. Most of thee items can be easily found at most stores. There are some items that are harder to find, but are accessible through websites. We were told to get antenna relocation systems from www.tacticalcommandstore.com item; M.A.S.T. version 2-R. 24 inch tan harness. The next items can be found at www.extremeoutfitters.com. Nike SFB men's boot, sizes 9 to 11, frogg toggs, high ground single hand drop down prc 152 pouch, HSG highspeed low drag suspenders, high ground 5.56 mag pouch single. Some of these items seem like basic items that we should be able to come by, but as I mentioned earlier, my platoon is rarely afforded the opportunity to go back to a big base and purchase these items from the px. We truly appreciate the support and services you provide, THANK YOU

IMPORTANT! DO NOT PRINT THIS PAGE!!!

Why? Because this list changes all the time due to unit movements, soldier transfers, or even soldier casualties.
It is also illegal. ALL content on this site is copyright Any Soldier Inc.
DO NOT send any letter or package to a soldier's address unless you check this web site the same day you mail your packages.
Please do not burden the soldiers or the APO/FPO by sending things when the soldiers are gone. If a soldier is not listed here anymore then that soldier's address is expired. Check here often!

Note that some of the units do not have ranks shown on their addresses.
This is done at the unit's request, but ALL of our contacts ARE Servicemembers.

Be sure to change the "ATTN" line to "ATTN: Any Female Marine if your package is for a female!

DO NOT use this program if you expect or require a reply!
DO NOT expect, or require, a reply from a Marine!
A supporter said it perfectly, "I mean, these guys and gals have other things on their minds, y’know? Like...oh, STAYING ALIVE?"

(NOTE *): Effective 1 May 2006 this web site added a major layer of security to our contacts' information. This change is necessary to protect our troops and ensure that Any Soldier will continue to operate.
The ONLY changes are that the addresses of our contacts are now hidden and the number of addresses you can get are limited. You may obtain addresses simply by clicking on the link provided and correctly filling out the form, the address will then be emailed to you immediately.

(NOTE **): The number shown is how many times a form was submitted requesting this address. This does NOT necessarily mean that this contact will be helped by that many folks. Rule of thumb is that anything 5 requests or less may in fact be no support at all. No way to tell exactly unless the contact lets you know in his/her update how much support they are getting.

(Note 1.): Note that postage to APO AE and FPO AE (E = Europe) is only to NY where the connection to the APO/FPO (APO = Army Post Office)(FPO = Fleet Post Office) is, or to San Francisco for APO AP and FPO AP (P = Pacific), so you don't pay postage all the way to Iraq/Afghanistan. You might consider picking contacts closer to your mailing area to help cut the cost of mailing. If you live on the East Coast, pick "AE", West Coast, pick "AP", Midwest, well...uh, Thank You for your Support! ;)

New with us (December 2005) you might notice "APO AA" and "FPO AA". This is for units in the Caribbean/South America. Normally. However, due to the nature of some units they may be in Iraq but have an address showing "FPO AA". Mail addresses to "AA" goes out of Miami, Florida.

(Note 2.): Why are military addresses weird? There isn't a street address or city. What gives? Correct, just about everything about the military is weird to civilians. Military units are very mobile, they move around a lot, often they even become part of another unit. The APO (Army Post Office) and FPO (Fleet Post Office) assign APO and FPO numbers as needed, they are NOT static. An APO/FPO number may be for a large unit, or a location. An APO/FPO number for Baghdad today may be for Frankfurt tomorrow.

(Note 3.): The "Expect to not mail past" date is only an approximate and is one of the least reliable things on this web site. It is because of this that you must check often before you send anything to this unit. There are a few reasons this date is not reliable, to include: it IS the Military, we ARE dealing with the APO/FPO/DPO. The only thing that does not change in the military is that things will change. PLEASE NOTE that a Contact is dropped off our active list 30 days PRIOR to their date leaving to help avoid mail bouncing.

(Note 4.): (Removed for OPSEC reasons)

(Note 5.): The lines, "Contact with approx number of Soldiers:" and "Approx how may Female Soldiers:" have NOTHING to do with unit strength. They are approximately how many other Troops the Contacts believe they can get packages to. This helps you understand that you should not send 100 packages to someone who only deals with 10 Troops.
Don't forget that if your package is for a female Soldier, be sure to change "ATTN: Any Soldier®" to "ATTN: Any Female Soldier".

( Note 6.): This is simply where the unit this contact is from. This is NOT a true picture of the folks in the unit as most all units are made up of folks from all over the United States.) A "Composite Unit" is one made up of other units and is usually temporary for a particular mission.

( Note 7.): Updated APO/FPO/DPO mailing restrictions> courtesy of Oconus.com (gone now) (Note: About Restriction "U2": "U2 - Limited to First Class Letters", Box "R" is for retired personnel that live overseas and are still authorized an APO/FPO box. Their address will be something like Box 3345R. Doubt you will see anything like that in Afghanistan or Iraq or ...)(Please Note: Sometime in August 2013, Oconus.com changed the code on their page and our form doesn't work with them anymore, so a link to their page is the best we can do, sorry.)
