David asked me to reply to his e-mails today as he is really tired and trying to rest. Yes he was in the helocopter that went down. He had a minor head injury and neck and back injuries. He has been released from the hospital and is now an outpatient. He is doing physical therapy to try and rebuild the muscles in his back. They are torn and are allowing the vertibra to shift. He is still very sore and tires easily. Thanks for your concern.

ok well for underarmer shirts marines, navy, and army wear brown and green, the air force wears black, tight fit is the best size well med,and large are the most worn. socks black underarmer socks are nice but the marines hump a lot so custion is nice but underarmer keeps are feet dry. personaly we love the pictures we recive from the sender we try to wright when we can e mail addresses work the best on letter and send to all. also send envolopes with adresses already on them it saves time. dvds thats funny time to watch movies is hard yeah we have portable dvd players and lab tops they are nice but i dont think we've watched a hole movie the two and a half month we've been here. um gear we move and somtimes lose small things cheverons cpl lcpl pfc sgt umm well boys will be boys just keep that in mind. it will start getting cold at night so blankets pillows small ones we can pack or toss if we have to. be reminded for your safty e mails are a good thing we try to distroy the adresses on the boxes for your safty if the box doesnt have a name you remember dont open be safe back home. im trying to say make adresses easy to dispose of. ummm state side tabacco the stuff hear is well nasty. and i want to say just your support is what keeps my boys going. o yeah do remeber their are famileys out their who have lost their sons brothers dads husbands and wifes a few of them are my marines and i wish i could tell their famileys how much the marine ment to me. but im pretty sure it help ease their pain knowing people said the things to them that has put smiles on my mens faces well thank you and if you can send a adress to post pics to ill try my best

(from an email sent to an Anysoldier.US supporter):

howdy
well i want to thank everyone of you for your support and dedication to your military. I cant begin to express how much it means to myself and my marines. It has'nt been easy this week for these guys they lost a marine and a very good friend the band of brothers will countinue to stay strong with his memories, the letters and the pakages do bring the marines spirits up. My mission has changed from 11 men to a hole platoon but under my comand i have only been give 2 extra bodys. well a little about my self im a cpl/e-4 in the marines ive been in for four yrs now im only 20 yrs old this is my second time over here. im from shelby nc i graduated from crest high school. my 21st b day is in augest and ill still be here. well enough about me my marines are all still younger then me and a couple of them are right out of high school but are very mature for their age. Im more then proud of them they have acomplished alot in these past few month which the whole bn. has done so but i can only realy speake for my guys. a little about afganastan well its stupied hot here avg. temp is 115 deg. during the day at night its cold but cold is is 70-80 degres. well the tempo here is rising due to elections where seeing more and more combate but i guess we dont make the news as much iraq. i have a feeling both places are going to be pretty busy here soon. well the media isnt always true we are acomplishing many of or missions and we like to belive we are one step closer to finishing it. the support you give us keeps are heads in the game its hard to work your butt off every day in these conditions and not even get a pat on the back watch you brothers in arms a nation away all over the tv for the same thing your doing but in worse conditions. the qustions start to come of why well now they know its for you and the united states the freedom we have. everything has its price and well we've paid a small bit of it but more will come. well you can email me and ill try to keep everyone up to date im sorry i didnt have time to wright each and everone of you indevidualy if i did have time i would your support means that much to us well once agin thank you and may god bless.

The 11 Marines under me guard and protect the fellow Marines of the unit. We stand 12 hour posts every day in the hot sun, and during sandstroms, lighting and hail. We are the first to receive incoming fire. My Marines are around the ages of 18-20. Many fresh out of high school. They are the few, they are the proud. I am proud to have them under my command. Letters and packages are greatly appreciated to keep morale high. Thank you.

Foot inserts would be a welcome site for our feet.

IMPORTANT! DO NOT PRINT THIS PAGE!!!

Why? Because this list changes all the time due to unit movements, soldier transfers, or even soldier casualties.
It is also illegal. ALL content on this site is copyright Any Soldier Inc.
DO NOT send any letter or package to a soldier's address unless you check this web site the same day you mail your packages.
Please do not burden the soldiers or the APO/FPO by sending things when the soldiers are gone. If a soldier is not listed here anymore then that soldier's address is expired. Check here often!

Note that some of the units do not have ranks shown on their addresses.
This is done at the unit's request, but ALL of our contacts ARE Servicemembers.

Be sure to change the "ATTN" line to "ATTN: Any Female Marine if your package is for a female!

DO NOT use this program if you expect or require a reply!
DO NOT expect, or require, a reply from a Marine!
A supporter said it perfectly, "I mean, these guys and gals have other things on their minds, y’know? Like...oh, STAYING ALIVE?"

(NOTE *): Effective 1 May 2006 this web site added a major layer of security to our contacts' information. This change is necessary to protect our troops and ensure that Any Soldier will continue to operate.
The ONLY changes are that the addresses of our contacts are now hidden and the number of addresses you can get are limited. You may obtain addresses simply by clicking on the link provided and correctly filling out the form, the address will then be emailed to you immediately.

(NOTE **): The number shown is how many times a form was submitted requesting this address. This does NOT necessarily mean that this contact will be helped by that many folks. Rule of thumb is that anything 5 requests or less may in fact be no support at all. No way to tell exactly unless the contact lets you know in his/her update how much support they are getting.

(Note 1.): Note that postage to APO AE and FPO AE (E = Europe) is only to NY where the connection to the APO/FPO (APO = Army Post Office)(FPO = Fleet Post Office) is, or to San Francisco for APO AP and FPO AP (P = Pacific), so you don't pay postage all the way to Iraq/Afghanistan. You might consider picking contacts closer to your mailing area to help cut the cost of mailing. If you live on the East Coast, pick "AE", West Coast, pick "AP", Midwest, well...uh, Thank You for your Support! ;)

New with us (December 2005) you might notice "APO AA" and "FPO AA". This is for units in the Caribbean/South America. Normally. However, due to the nature of some units they may be in Iraq but have an address showing "FPO AA". Mail addresses to "AA" goes out of Miami, Florida.

(Note 2.): Why are military addresses weird? There isn't a street address or city. What gives? Correct, just about everything about the military is weird to civilians. Military units are very mobile, they move around a lot, often they even become part of another unit. The APO (Army Post Office) and FPO (Fleet Post Office) assign APO and FPO numbers as needed, they are NOT static. An APO/FPO number may be for a large unit, or a location. An APO/FPO number for Baghdad today may be for Frankfurt tomorrow.

(Note 3.): The "Expect to not mail past" date is only an approximate and is one of the least reliable things on this web site. It is because of this that you must check often before you send anything to this unit. There are a few reasons this date is not reliable, to include: it IS the Military, we ARE dealing with the APO/FPO/DPO. The only thing that does not change in the military is that things will change. PLEASE NOTE that a Contact is dropped off our active list 30 days PRIOR to their date leaving to help avoid mail bouncing.

(Note 4.): (Removed for OPSEC reasons)

(Note 5.): The lines, "Contact with approx number of Soldiers:" and "Approx how may Female Soldiers:" have NOTHING to do with unit strength. They are approximately how many other Troops the Contacts believe they can get packages to. This helps you understand that you should not send 100 packages to someone who only deals with 10 Troops.
Don't forget that if your package is for a female Soldier, be sure to change "ATTN: Any Soldier®" to "ATTN: Any Female Soldier".

( Note 6.): This is simply where the unit this contact is from. This is NOT a true picture of the folks in the unit as most all units are made up of folks from all over the United States.) A "Composite Unit" is one made up of other units and is usually temporary for a particular mission.

( Note 7.): Updated APO/FPO/DPO mailing restrictions> courtesy of Oconus.com (gone now) (Note: About Restriction "U2": "U2 - Limited to First Class Letters", Box "R" is for retired personnel that live overseas and are still authorized an APO/FPO box. Their address will be something like Box 3345R. Doubt you will see anything like that in Afghanistan or Iraq or ...)(Please Note: Sometime in August 2013, Oconus.com changed the code on their page and our form doesn't work with them anymore, so a link to their page is the best we can do, sorry.)
